2024 Wisconsin Window Tint Laws

The percent of visible light passing through your vehicle’s windows is called “Visible Light Transmission,” or VLT. Legal VLT levels in Wisconsin are very specific and depend on vehicle type and window type.

Must allow more than 50% VLT.

Other Important Wisconsin Window Tint Laws

In Wisconsin, all tinting film must not be reflective.
3% tint variance is allowed.
Wisconsin allows medical exemptions for darker window tints.

In Dec 2023 I had my 2024 GMC Denali HD Ultimate ceramic coated (and windows tinted) by Carisma. I was skeptical because I had previously bought my daughter a new Acura RDX for her birthday and had the Acura dealer 'ceramic coat' it. I couldn't tell a difference between that and a regular finish. Total waste of money. I took my new truck straight from the dealer to Carisma. I've now had my truck ceramic coated for 1 year (a REAL ceramic coat) and I can say I will never NOT have another vehicle ceramic coated at Carisma. It's awesome. Previous trucks I washed and waxed once a week year-round (I have a heated garage). The ceramic coating is far far superior to even a fresh (weekly) wax finish. When I get home now after driving in the rain or even salty slushy roads, I gently run a stream (not a spray) of water over the truck and let the water sheet down the sides. Everything glides right off even the water. Its actually a little hard to believe until you see it for yourself. My truck is clean literally every time I drive it with just a few minutes to sheet water off of it after every rainy or snowy drive. I still wash my truck almost every week but not having to wax saves me an hour every time. That's 50 hours a year saved (time is money) I also don't need a towel to dry the truck. I wash it, then sheet the water off with an open ended hose and then use a leaf blower to blow any remnant drops of water off the truck. With the ceramic coating water glides right off. Its THE best money I ever spent on a vehicle. Worth every penny. If you have a nice vehicle get a REAL ceramic coat from Carisma. You won't regret it.
